Hickman Tops Crate Nationals at 411 Motor Speedway
For the first time, Riley Hickman jumped in the seat of the David Duplissey-owned, Hickman Manufacturing/American Billett/CVR Race Cars No. D2 on Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.). Hickman turned the opportunity into a $3,000 payday. (Nv-UsPhoto.com photo)
“I greatly appreciate the generosity of David Duplissey,” Hickman commented. “It was cool to be able to get them this win. I’m looking forward to piloting the No. D2 in a couple more events before the 2019 season is over.”
A stout field of 45 entries converged at the annual Crate Nationals. After posting the second-fastest lap in time trials behind Pierce McCarter, Hickman charged to a 10-lap heat race victory.
Hickman took the lead at the drop of the green flag and set a blistering pace throughout the race. His second victory of 2019 came ahead of Jensen Ford, Pierce McCarter, Jesse Lowe, and Jason Welshan.
