Pulling double duty in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks, Riley Hickman traveled to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) on Friday evening for the annual NASCAR Weekend. In a stout field of 50 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model entries, Hickman timed in seventh fastest in his qualifying group transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top-3 into the opening night feature, Riley landed a 2nd place finish behind Tyler Clem. Starting in 17th, Riley was credited with a 23rd place outing after retiring on lap 11.
In the Super Late Model division, Hickman posted a 3rd place finish in the feature behind Austin Horton and Cory Hedgecock with Donald McIntosh and Jason Hiett completing the Top-5 finishers.
On Saturday night for the $2,500 top prize, Hickman locked his spot into the finale with third fastest time in his qualifying group. Earning the 6th-starting position for the feature, Riley jumped up two spots in the 50-lap affair to place 4th behind Ronnie Johnson, Andy Picklesimer, and Michael Page with Heath Hindman coming in 5th. During the same night in a field of 40 Southern All Star Series entries, Riley Hickman notched a 5th place finish in the $4,000-to-win feature trailing Austin Horton, Ronnie Johnson, Michael Page, and Cory Hedgecock across the finish line.
