Behind the wheel of both his Super and Crate Late Model, Riley Hickman traveled to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Saturday night for the annual Cabin Fever 40. Drawing 35 Super Late Models for the Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Mountain Championship sanctioned event, Hickman fell one position short of locking his spot into the show via qualifying with the 7th fastest time in his group. Starting on the pole of his consolation event, Riley secured his spot into the $3,500-to-win A-Main with a B-Main victory. Rolling off 14th for the 40-lap main event, Hickman worked his way into the Top 10 improving five spots to place 10th.

In a stout field of 47 Crate Late Models, Hickman earned the 6th-starting position for the $1,500-tp-win A-Main after timing in 6th fastest overall. Riley Hickman opened up the 2017 season on Friday night at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) for the 26th Annual Ice Bowl. Competing in both his Crate and Super Late Model, Hickman timed in 2nd fastest in his qualifying group giving him a front-row spot for his heat race. Sending the Top 3 out of the heat, Riley secured his spot with a runner-up finish behind Michael Page. In a field of 42 Crate Late Models for the NeSmith RockAuto.com Winter Shootout sanctioned weekend, Hickman posted the fastest time in his qualifying group and then stormed to a heat race victory.

Bringing home a podium finish, Riley crossed the finish line backwards but still posted a 2nd place finish behind Brandon Williams with Ronnie Johnson, Jimmy Elliott, and Jeff Helms rounding out the Top 5.
