September 27th, 2014 - Hickman Competes in Alabama State Championships
Riley Hickman continued his chase for the 2014 Southern All Star (SAS) Racing Series title over the weekend with the Alabama State Championships at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama).

Thirty-nine Super Late Models converged on the oval for Saturday night's $4,000-to-win SAS program, and Riley locked into the main even via preliminary action before racing to a fourth place finish in the main event behind race winner, Shane Clanton, Mack McCarter and Clint Smith. Tom Maddox rounded out the top five finishers.

On Sunday afternoon the $4,000-to-win, Alabama State Championships finale was contested, and twenty-seven entries returned for battle. Hickman missed the transfer into the feature via qualifications, and had to run a b-main where he finished fourth. During the course of the 40 lapper, Hickman rocketed from his ninth row starting spot to land a runner-up finish behind race winner, Randy Weaver. Chris Madden, Shane Clanton and Chris Wilson completed the top five.

September 21st, 2014 - Hickman Visits Victory Lane in Cleveland Re-Opening
After sitting dormant for nearly a year, Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) resumed operation on Friday night under new ownership.

Thirty-three Limited Late Models registered for battle, in front of a capacity crowd at the historic oval. Riley blazed to fast time honors with a lap of 13.694 seconds, earning him he pole position for the feature. When the race went green, Hickman assumed the point and built a commanding lead before the caution waved on lap five. Despite several cautions, Hickman dominated the event, leading flag-to-flag for the victory over Andy Picklesimer, Jamie Perry, Brett Wyatt, and Todd Hernandez. (Photo by The Photo Man)

It was back to business with the Southern All Star (SAS) Racing Series Super Late Models on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee). The $5,000-to-win, King of the Mountain Fall Classic drew a field of twenty-seven entries to the oval, as Riley piloted the #1G Warrior House Car for the second time this season. With the tour four qualifiers from each group locking into the feature, Hickman fell short of the transfer and had to run a heat race. A third place finish in his heat race earned him the fourteenth starting spot for the 50 lap main event. In the feature, Riley settled to a nineteenth place finish in the final rundown.

The weekend drew to a close on Sunday evening when the Riley Hickman Racing team returned to Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Georgia) for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series event that was nixed by rain a week ago.

With twenty-one entries in the pits for the $4,000-to-win program, Riley qualified fourth overall during time trials to lock into the fourth starting spot for the Georgia State Championship finale. Hickman chased polesitter, Casey Roberts throughout the course of the event but was never able to inch in front of Roberts. Hickman would settle for second behind Roberts at the checkered flag, while Clayton Turner, Jeff Smith and Dennis Franklin rounded out the top five finishers. (Photo by ZSK Photography)

September 13th, 2014 - Riley Dodges Mother Nature; Finishes Second at Boyd's
What was scheduled to be a busy weekend for the Riley Hickman Racing team was quickly cut to a single after Mother Nature wreaked havoc in the south.

As a result, Hickman returned to Boyd's Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) for a Weekly Racing Series program in the Steel-Head Late Model division. Twenty-three entries converged on the oval, and via qualification Riley earned the third starting spot on the feature grid. In the main event he battled at the front of the pack throughout the race before registering a second place finish behind race winner, Mike Tinker. Robby Mason, Andy Mille, and Blake Shapiro rounded out the top five finishers.

September 6th, 2014 - Riley Hickman Runner-Up at Boyd's Speedway
Riley Hickman entered a single event over the weekend as he visited his home track of Boyd's Speedway (Riggold, Georgia) for a Weekly Racing Series program in the Steel-Head Late Model division. Fifteen entries were on hand for the event, and Riley starting his outing by blazing to fast time honors to lock into the main event. Despite battling fuel pressure issues for much of the night, Hickman managed a runner-up finish behind race winner, Jamie Perry.
